We’ve experienced many vacation rentals and the Bonny Cottage By the Sea exceeded our expectations.
Beautiful cottage, extremely well appointed and equipped. Outside areas are amazing with a nice ocean view which we were not expecting. The cottage is very well maintained and the documentation provided is the best we’ve seen! Highly recommend!

We loved our stay ant the Bonny Cottage By the Sea. This cottage is quaint, and comfortable. It is close to Moonstone Beach, the Hearst Winery, Moro Bay, and more. The kitchen is small (really small) but well stocked which is unusual for a rental property. We enjoyed all of the outdoor seating areas, especially the deck off of the living room. The perfect spot to enjoy our coffee in the morning, and wine in the evening. We would definitely stay here again if given the opportunity.

Have been visiting Cambria and staying in this cottage on and off for 20 plus years. The cabin is charming, homey, and one of the original Cambria cottages. As well, it has always been a good experience dealing with Scenic Coast.Clearly the family who owns this property has a long standing relationship and it shows. This time was special. I had to cut my visit short and leave early due to Hurricane Hilary. I needed to get south before the storm hit. Accidentally left my earrings behind and worried quite a bit that the finder would keep them. But these are honest people. Valerie received the earrings from her cleaner...thanks to an truthful person. I received a complete refund for the night I lost, and my earrings are being mailed to me. What great folks! I cannot recommend this property management company enough.

The lovely home is charming if you enjoy the vintage feel. We enjoyed the deck area in the afternoon which offered a peak of the ocean. This was my second visit to the home in the past 2 years. I was happy to see a few upgrades such as new carpet, new microwave and a few other items. I would suggest that the owner consider providing a Keurig coffee pot. We scrubbed one of the copper bottom pans. There are several others that need the same treatment. Lots of deck area and a BBQ is available. The two loveseats in the living room may need the cushions redone. There didn't seem to be much padding in the seat area. Also the TV is a bit challenging. The instructions are not quite correct. However, we did figure it out after a bit of trial and error. I would definitely recommend the home if you are looking for a quiet, comfortable single story home located close to everything.

My husband and I celebrated our anniversary at this charming little cottage. It was clean, the small kitchen was well stocked, the master bed was very comfortable, as well as the living room furniture. We enjoyed the ambiance of candles that were timed to come on each evening in the living room and dining area. There were books and dvd’s to enjoy. Lots of windows to open and let in the ocean breeze. The antiques and photos on the walls of couples and friends having fun together made you feel at home. It was a short drive to downtown Cambria and the beach. And only about 15 minutes to Hearst Castle. The yard needed some attention. Overall we enjoyed our stay and would like to return in the future.

The cottage was comfy, bright and full of historical charm. Loved the antiques, old photos of happy people, the grounds and of course the ocean view from the front deck and back patio. We were frequented by quails running through the front yard. We walked to town, moonstone beach and the Bluff trail which we highly recommend. This cottage is the most well stocked place we have ever stayed at. This place is a real gem and we enjoyed our stay here.

If it were possible I would purchase this property for our second home. Currently living 1/2 block up from the ocean in Pismo Beach this property is nowhere near as close, but we love the quaintness/coziness of the unit. We're just so comfortable here.

The house was very tired and in need to some repair. The yard was messy. The oven didn't work well. There was no propane in the BBQ. It was very clean and the rental company was nice and easy to deal with but the house itself really needed a little TLC.

Very comfy beds and cool evenings made for excellent sleep in this jewel of a cottage. A jewel needs to be cherished and cared for. TLC, such as new paint and wallpaper, would make this little home appear to be loved and greatly enhance a cosy, comfy stay.

The perfect place for our vacation.. The cabin was the perfect size for two people and dog and the back patio was a great place for the dog to explore. I personally loved the front deck myself to sit out and listen to the ocean and get a little sun. Despite being an older cabin the kitchen and bathrooms in good shape And the kitchen is perfectly stocked with tools and pots and pans and dishes! Situated on happy Hill, it is about half a mile into town either a nice walk or a quick drive.

My husband and I enjoyed the 1920’s country cottage vibe and all the thoughtful amenities. I was delighted to find many little treasures there, including a tea set. One chilly afternoon we enjoyed having friends over for tea by the fireplace. Everything about this place is cozy and comfortable.

This little house was one of the best things to happen to our family in 2021. Beautifully appointed, sparkling clean, the beds were comfortable, and I don't think there was one thing that the owner overlooked. We loved that it was decorated for the Holidays and the many battery operated candles lent so much warm ambience. I'm sure we will return to this lovely home.

To help anyone who is interested in this property: This is and old home, built in the 1920's. It is not completely level. If you suffer from vertigo or otherwise have a balance issue, you may want to check out another property. It took us a day or two to get used to the uneven floor. If you don't mind that, rent this little beauty!

The ownership did not leave anything to chance, everything imaginable was there made available to us including dog towels. As owners of VRBO ourselves, it was very appreciated the thought invested behind the provisions available to renters. Very nice, would definitely go again!

The Bonny Cottage by the Sea, was indeed Bonny! It was very cozy, very clean, and very enjoyable. The neighborhood was quiet, lots of friendly people walking friendly dogs. The front deck with the furniture was fun, we actually got to sit in the sun a few days. The kitchen was very well stocked and we found everything that we needed. Loved all the candles that are in the living room. The beds were comfortable and the cottage was decorated with vintage furniture, photos, and decorations which were very charming. I would certainly stay here again!

3rd time and much improved on the second visit

So comfortable, like visit a family home. Love the fireplace, patios, BBQ deck, tiny ocean view sun deck, FLOWER garden was wonderful! Neighbors were all gone this time, so super quiet, but miss their company. Supper nice neighbors.

Shower head, loose toilet seat, microwave needs replacement door, and loose patio boards, were the only difficulties. Certainly time for new carpet this year. We will be back in Cambria this August.

We love Bonny Cottage. It's perfect for vacationing with our dog and it helps it's one story. The yard was gorgeous and in full bloom, the gardener is so sweet, we got to meet her. They have night lights and a surge protector. All the kitchen utensils, pots and pans you can need. Also ladies, a hair dryer, save you some packing room. View of the sunset from the deck was amazing.

A nice small cottage at the top of Happy Hill. For two people and no pets, the cottage was of adequate size for a six day stay. Property was clean upon arrival. The decking and outside furniture has been updated since the photos on the website, and is a very nice addition. Wonderful views off the decks, and the neighborhood is very quiet and peaceful. The kitchen is well stocked with utensils, cookware, etc. There is a both a charcoal and propane grill available - however, the propane tank was empty. So we wound up using the charcoal grill, as there was charcoal and lighter fluid available. One annoyance - several light fixtures that had multiple bulbs had one or two burnt out bulbs. We couldn't find any bulbs in the house, so left a note for the property manager. Overall - a pleasant stay for our Thanksgiving.

The cottage was accurately described clean and well maintained. Excellent customer service as well as booklet inside cottage filled with info on the place as well as surrounding communities. I would absolutely recommnend this cottage.Happy with the town the food was always good. The Scarecrow Festival was so much fun! Always a beautiful town!

Our second stay at this house since July 2019, much has been cleaned up and was much nicer. New patio furniture was Greatly appreciated. Still really needs new flooring. Love the gardens and neighborhood. Warm, comfortable, easy to relax there the entire time.

Our favorite house. Have been staying there for over 10 years.

My husband and I enjoyed the stay at the cottage. The property manager was very helpful, supplying an extra key when we were locked out. They gave us a goodie bag with helpful info and map about services and attractions in the area. They even provided a list of trails friendly to dogs since we brought our pup. The fenced yard was great for the dog. The kitchen was well stocked with pots, pans, dishes, cups and utensils. The beds were very comfortable. It was decorated for the holiday which made it very homey. Loved the gas fireplace and candles. Since we visited over a very wet Christmas week the deck and patios were not used. But would love to return when weather is better and enjoy the view of the ocean from the deck.

We loved this darling cottage so much and are still talking about how much we loved staying there! We did not want to leave it was so cozy and comfortable and located in Cambria that has so much to offer! Beautiful beaches, parks and some of the best restaurants not to mention great shopping. We will for sure be back! We loved the fireplace and watching the beautiful sunsets in the evenings. We even saw a porcupine in the meadow out the window when we were eating breakfast. Our stay was magical!!!

Unfortunately the place has a severe mold issue along with fleas. So I can't recommend it at this time until this issues get resolved.

Cambria location is quiet and a great hub for the SLO area. Rental was very nice. Well equipped. Comfortable, Patio areas were perfect for breakfast in the morning and a glass of wine in the evening.

This is the only place we ever stayed in Cambria. It's a period cabin with lovely patios and decks. The home was all you need. It's not new and modern. It's older but clean. The carpet it's light and as you can imagine has a few stains near the kitchen area. For us it's a second home and where I was married 23 years ago. When you sit on the deck and watch the sun rise or set you'll understand the beauty of Bonnie's House.

Recently returned to our go to our favorite getaway place, and rented a cottage where we could relax with our dog. The patio under the a huge oak was just the place to barbecue, eat, relax, and play games. Everything we needed was easily available, with comfortable beds, a warm shower, and a location near everything.

My family has stayed at this location for over 10 years (once or twice each year) and every year more items are updated (furniture, internet, digital TV, kitchen amenities, etc.). Close to the top of Happy Hill and within easy walking distance to west end of Cambria and to Moonstone Beach. The office staff are professional, friendly and very knowledgeable of all their properties.

All around wonderful place. Very clean. Decorated nicely. A comfortable, relaxing experience. Nice garden with many places to sit and enjoy the flowers and greenery. I would definitely stay here again. And the management company was a pleasure to work with. Hearst Castle is a must. And shopping in town is a fun experience. The employee's at Linn's Restaurant are the nicest, friendliest people ever!

Previously we have rented other homes in Cambria all more expensive than the Bonny Cottage but none of them quite hit the mark for us. This home was a wonderful surprise. At first glance, the cottage exterior shows its age. However if you look past that you realize that it is a great little property. The outside grounds on the back side are lovely. The tree and plantings offered a serene and cool spot to relax in the late afternoon over a cocktail.On the front side of the cottage is a deck with a very good view of the ocean and sunsets. We enjoyed both options. A small suggestion: the outdoor furniture could be improved for comfort and visual appeal. The cottage feels very private.The neighborhood is attractive and was very quiet during our stay.

The owner deserves a lot of credit for the improvements made to the interior. Considering the age of this home, a complete makeover inside is evident. From the flooring, paint, furniture, kitchen, bath,, bedrooms (great bed), window coverings, gas fireplace, flat screen TV - everything was in excellent condition. It couldn't have been more comfortable and functional. The flameless candles provided a nice touch. Although not especially large, the cottage's coziness was just right. All the natural light and abundance of windows that open for fresh air was appreciated. The pictures give that homey feeling and history that almost make you believe you're part of the family.

The location was perfect. We always enjoy walking the nearby trails at Fiscalini Ranch; and walking the boardwalk at Moonstone Beach never gets old. We intended to eat out one evening but the cottage was so inviting, we cooked and dined in instead. During our stay we toured the backroads of Paso Robles for wine tasting. We recommend Whalebone winery and Michael Gill. We also visited the country Linn Farms buying pies and preserves.

An older, very cozy home with a beautiful garden and view that made you feel secluded (even with close by neighbors) was the perfect getaway. No more than a 5 minute drive to the beach or town (and certainly within walking distance if you don't mind the hilly area), overall great location. Definitely recommended this house to our family and will be staying again! We also highly recommend trying Linn's Bakery for breakfast!

The staff I spoke with regarding questions about the property were great and were very helpful with bringing over a hair dryer when the listing didn't have one.

Stayed with our daughter and son-in-law over Thanksgiving. The kitchen had everything we needed for a full menu. Kids pronounced the house cozy and comfortable. Great view of the ocean. Lots of wildlife visited us. Thanks for being pet friendly.

Happy Hill is one of the best locations in Cambria--little or no traffic, short distance so you can walk to downtown. Very comfortable beds, large front porch and fenced backyard.

Great cabin and yard for a dog. Clean and a great location

Historic cabin site with lots of potential, large property, circular driveway, 3 patio's quite and peaceful. Lots of birds and deer. Nice view of the ocean from 2 of the patio's and driveway. Kitchen on a slant, curtains in kitchen, dinning and living room are old. Front patio area the wood bends and felt like it would break. Heater worked well, wished we could have stayed longer but had to get back to work.

Beautiful cabin with all the amenities. Lots of wildlife to enjoy such as wild turkeys, quail, squirrels, blue jays, and finches. My wife and I enjoyed are three week stay very much!!!

PERFECT LITTLE LOG CABIN IN GREAT LOCATION. SET A LITTLE BACK FROM THE ROAD FOR PRIVACY. SINGLE LEVEL SO EASY ON THE KNEES. WONDERFUL VIEWS FROM BOTH FRONT AND BACK DECKS. The property is in need of repair. The backyard wood patios need maintenance. The shower needs to be updated and fixed as well. The only redeeming quality is that we now appreciate staying in Marine Terrace much more...
